General Questions:
Registered Campers:
How do I register
for camp?
Use our new online
registration process. (Meadowkirk uses a service
provider for our registration process that assures us both
complete privacy and full security over the information
you enter.)
Online
Registration will be available January 15, 2009!
If you would like to register before that date, please fill
out the
Camper Registration Form (PDF) and mail it along with
your deposit (one half the cost of your session) to Meadowkirk.
The Health
Form (PDF) and
Camper Information Form (PDF), along with the remaining
balance of the cost of the session, will need to be submitted
two weeks before the beginning of your session.
Is there a deadline for registering for camp?
There is no specific deadline for registering; however,
we do suggest that you register as early as possible in
order to guarantee that the camp session you want to attend
does not fill up! We will do our best to keep the website
up-to-date and post which sessions have been filled on the
Camp Details page.
Do you
have a scholarship program?
Yes. For information on donating to or receiving camp
scholarships, please call the office at 540-687-5565.
Who are your counselors?
Our counselors are all young adults who are committed
to the Christian faith, enjoy working with children and
youth, and are at least 18 years of age. Many are returning
staff or campers from Camp Glenkirk! All will go through
an intensive two-week training at the beginning of the summer.
We also run a National Criminal Background check on all
of our staff.
Can I go
to camp with a friend?
Each camper may request one friend to be in the same
cabin. There is a spot on the registration form for you
to make note of your requested friend. Both campers must
request each other to insure that this request is met. We
do ask that you limit requested friend to one person as
this insures our ability to foster the best camp experience
for all involved.
How much does
camp cost?
Our rates vary depending on the type of camp session
you are interested in. You can find the rate for a specific
camp on the Camp Details page.
What happens on a typical day at camp?
Because we have a variety of camp programs, there really
is no such thing as a "typical" day. However, to give you
an idea of what will go on this summer you will find
to the right our best attempt at providing
an example day.
Do you have to be Presbyterian to come to camp?
Not at all! We are owned by the National Capital Presbytery,
but Meadowkirk celebrates diversity and welcomes all campers
of all denominations.
Registration for each camp session will take place at
4 pm on Sunday.
How do I get there?
See our Directions page. Once you get on site, there
will be signs pointing you in the right direction.
What time is pick-up on the last day of camp?
Camp ends with a Closing Worship service.
Parents are invited to attend the Closing Worship service
and then pick up your child at its conclusion. Closing Worship
begins at 3 pm on Friday (Tuesday for Family Camp) and will
conclude by 3:30pm.
What do I bring with me?
